8 Beauty Essentials That Actually Work (And Won't Break The Bank)

1. Lanolips Golden Ointment // $11.95
This 100% natural mix of Lanolin, Manuka Honey and Vitamin E is exactly what the doctor ordered for dry, flaky winter skin. Why use a lotion moisturiser when you can go all out with this 'super moisturiser'? After just one use you'll feel the difference.

2. Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray // $9
This refreshing spray is infused with aloe, herbs and rosewater, perfect for soothing just-cleansed skin and acting as a no-fuss toner. It also doubles up as a make-up setter, giving your skin a boost of hydration for an effortless dewy look.

3. Frank Original Coffee Scrub // $14.95
You've seen the Instagram posts and heard the hype, but this scrub is actually worth all the buzz. The combination of ground coffee, cold-pressed sweet almond oil, vitamin E and sea salt works wonders on rough skin and you can feel it working too - in fact the first few scrubs are actually a little painful. But, as the old saying goes, beauty is pain, and for skin that smooth, I'm not complaining.

4. Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream // $19.95
I have a deep obsession with all things almond - Amaretto Sours, Marzipan, Almond-Milk Chai Lattes... so when I was given this delectable hand cream as a gift last year, I was instantly hooked. It smells incredible, and the consistency of the cream is so rich that after one use your hands feel ten times softer and more nourished.

5. The Beauty Chef Beauty Fix Balm // $24.95
I cannot speak more highly of this balm. While it's actually meant for your face, I use it as a lip balm. I've always had qualms about the fact that we unknowingly ingest a significant amount of the lipstick and lip balms that we use throughout our lifetimes - imagine the amount of chemicals you're accidentally taking in (eek). That's why I love this product - all the ingredients in this balm are 100% natural and packed with anti-oxidants and Vitamins, plus its rich oils protect your lips and skin from outside elements better than any other balm I've tried. Winning.

6. Go-To Face Hero Oil // $44.95
Gone are the days when we were terrified of any sort of oil coming into contact with our skin. This rich blend of ten powerful 'super oils' is packed with essentially fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that will protect your skin against free radicals and deeply hydrate at the same time. It leaves zero residue and soaks into the skin instantly, making it perfect for morning or night use.

7. Hello Hair Hydrating Mask // $15
A lot of the women I know, like myself, have been colouring and heat-treating their hair since high school. Fast forward almost a decade of using hair straighteners and blowdryers and a lot of us are left with some seriously damaged hair (read: split end central). This mask is intensely rich, and after just one use I felt a massive difference in the softness of my hair. It's made entirely of 100% natural ingredients (starting to notice a trend?) and works to repair, strengthen and protect damaged hair.

This revolutionary skincare product is in a category of its own. I've been turning my friends onto it since I started using it last month and I'm always met with the same questions - Is it a cleanser? Is it a scrub? I actually have no freaking idea, but it works wonders and feels and smells amazing. Nude Skincare classify it as a 'treatment wash' - you use it 3-4 times a week as part of your skincare routine to brighten and refine the skin. It comes out of the bottle as a powder, then you add 2-3 droplets of water and it comes to life, fizzing and bubbling as you mix it together. Ingredients like vitamin C, inca gold oil, rose hip seeds and vanilla orchid seeds work together to micro-exfoliate all the dead cells off your face to reveal brighter, detoxed skin. This is great news for those of us who are burning the candle at both ends (see also: hungover). Did I mention the ingredients are 100% natural?
